Can I even fix it. I don't have even a month with it and it slipped from my hands yesterday. I don't have any protection plan. What can I do in this situation?

If only the glass broke, an Apple Store can usually replace the glass for around $30. However, the iPhone 5 has a new type of display, so that may or may not be the case. Ask Apple.
To preserve your warranty, you need to go to an Apple store. I may be mistaken, but I believe the screen on the iPhone 5 can be replaced...you'll pay. If it can't be replaced, you'll be offered an out of warrantry replacement, cost is US $229.

That's only the rear glass. On an iPhone 5, there is no rear glass.
When it fell it landed face down. So theres 3 big cracks across the glass. Everything is working fine. The back of the phone is perfect. I had to put one of those clear plastics on the screen so I can stop cutting my finger tip 😟
Go to an Apple store. The iPhone 5 screen is not glued to the digitizer, thus replacement should be easy. Again, you'll pay, but have Apple do this to preserve your warranty.
Yes, your right. And the iPhone 4 & 4S is disassembled from the rear. ifixit.com says it take 38 steps to get to the display assembly and the glass is glued to the display so the whole thing has to be replaced. At least the iPhone 5 disassembles front to back, so the display assembly is the first step. But ifixit.com didn't say that the glass wasn't glued to the display. They just said that it should be easy to repair.
My wife also broke her iphone today. Will stop by the store to check the price.
Hopefully they charge just for the glass
