Mbox 3 troubles with Logic Pro 9

I have recently purchased an Avid Mbox 3 which I wish to use with both Logic Pro 9. In Logic it recognises the MBox and lets me select it as both the input and the output device. It works perfectly as an output device however as an input device does not record any sound from my microphone. My microphone is Phantom powered so I have that switched on. The microphone runs directly into the Mbox and the speakers first go into a mixer then out to the monitors. Ive got the mic plugged into the back of the MBox and the source selection is set to rear and gain is turned up. The I and the R are both lit up when trying to record but still no sound is being recognised.

Something that did work was I changed the input to Pro Tools Aggregate I/O which meant the microphone picked up sound but I couldnt control the levels it was just ridiculously loud. Avid MBox is my current input. I've tried both input 1 and input 2 and still no changes. I've tried restarting the box in and out of the program and still no luck.

Not really sure what else I can do.

Any ideas?
