Does anyone know the exact format of an mbox file for import into Macmail?

I have a system running eCS (successor to IBM's OS/2) with a mail program called PMMail. It stores mail in folders as individual msg files.

I've written a program to convert each folder into an mbox file, but the mbox files won't import into Mac mail.

If you look at the wikipedia entry for mbox, you see the following reference:

titled:

"mbox" is a family of several mutually incompatible mailbox formats.

Has anyone been able to figure out what is needed for import? It's a problem with the msg delimiting; a mbox file with only one message imports OK.

Hey, I've cracked it!

For some reason, I had been using an extra piece of info in the From line -

instead of:

From MAILER-DAEMON Fri Jul 8 12:08:34 2011

I had tacked a tz indicator after the year:-(

My program now generates mbox files that import beautifully into Mac mail.
