Several applications crash after installing "MacBook Air and MacBook Pro Update 2.0"

Hello fellow Apple users,

I am facing a couple of problems after installing the afore mentioned update from the App Store. Several applications do either not work correctly or simply crash at startup. Here's an incomplete list of the issues I am facing:

  • LoginScreen does not show login box, screen is gray. Login is (although blindly) still possible
  • Calendar cannot login to calendars, prompts loginbox on every startup and then fails (yeah, I checked the entered password twice)
  • Skype crashes on startup
  • MS Office crashes on startup (except Outlook)

word and excel do not crash when opening a file diretly, powerpoint does only show one slide

  • Path Finder does not show left pane (completely white)
  • Preview crashes on startup
  • Quicklook does not work for pdfs
  • Finder crashes when pdf or worddoc is selected
  • Finder crashes when mounted dmg is selected
  • Google Chrome crashes when flash movie is played
  • Google Chrome keeps on asking for keychain authorization
  • iPhone Simulator crashes on startup
  • XCode cannot be closed

When I look into the generated error reports after crashes most applications die because of a "EXC_BAD_ACCESS (SIGSEGV)" error. I tried to download and install the update manually from http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1609 which seemed to fix the issues at first, but after a day they reappeared. Anyone experiencing this as well? Any hints?

Thanks in advance
