Two Apple IDs

I have two Apple IDs. How do I delete one of them?

I've had this problem before. They say that the accounts can't be merged, but several years ago I called in and the problem was fixed by a service representative. I currently have the same problem again. Apple saw fit to automatically assign me an iCloud ID / apple id from my me.com account. That was fine except that when my iOS devices asked to create an account, it was already created. If I did that then I'd have THREE accounts... I am sure many people have the same problem. Apple at some point will have to fix this.
