I bought 3 books through ITunes Store via desktop computer. I am unable to transfer them to Apple 5 Iphone. I bought music and they transferred.
On the phone I downloaded Kindle Reader, too...just trying to figure out what I am doing wrong. Please help!

Not sure what could be the problem but if you bought them legitamately through the itunes store you could get them on your 5 by downloading them directly from your phone. Like apps you have bought before im pretty sure they wont charge you twice for the same product you bought before. Hope this helps 🙂

Did you check this books under "Books" tab in iTunes when you sync your iPhone?
Do you have the Books app installed on your iPhone?
