Playlists disappeared on ipad2

The only playlist on my ipad2 is the purchased playlist but on my Mac computer, with ipad2 syncing over WiFi, I see all the playlists and music on my desktop but they are not showing up on my ipad. The summary also shows I have more songs on my ipad than what shows up on the ipad. Help!
