On i-tunes radio, under "electronica", Play FM Dublin station no longer connecting. If it's not available,why is it still on list of stations??

On i-tunes radio, under "electronica" heading, Play FM Dublin station no longer connecting. Station had closed down temporarely about a month ago while changing management, but is now up and running. I checked the official Play FM Dublin website, and the station is back in service! When I click on the station on i-tunes, I get the "getting playlist" dialoge box, and a green line as if it's trying to connect, but nothing happens. If i-tunes is no longer offering Play FM Dublin as a choice, then why list it?? Could someone please help. Frustated about not being able to just speek to a live person about this issue. Thank you.-- Today is Tuesday, November 13, 2012.

Trying Play FM Dublin now - at Wednesday 14th November 11:42am (London - and I believe Dublin - time) the station is on-air. So problem "gone away".

I can think of various reasons why the station would continue to be listed;

  1. It requires station management to notify someone that they are permanently of-air - and no one did, because they knew they were not permantly gone.
  2. The station's off-air period began between the occasions when iTunes refreshes its list of current stations, so that change had not yet been noticed.
  3. Someone knew that this was a temporary off-air transition and decided there was no point in removing the station from the list. If it was my station, and it was off-air only for a temporary period, the last thing I would want is for iTunes to remove it from their list. That says "station is gone for good". Leaving it on the list says "it's not on-air now, but it's worth checking again at another time to see if it comes back on".

If you were simply seeking publicity for the station, congratulations. I quite like it (but don't tell anyone under 24 years of age!)
