How to download Pages for Mac OS X 10.6.8?

Mountain Lion is OS X 10.8, currently at 10.8.2. If you have reasons to stay with Snow Leopard 10.6.8, you could try contacting the Mac App Store support or buying a copy of the retail box of iWork '09 from a third party such as Amazon.com or eBay.

If I installed iWork on computer with OS 10.6.8, how far could I update it to get the bugs out?

What bugs are you finding that need eliminating? You really don't need more than iWork 9.0.4 for Snow Leopard. The iWork 9.1 update can be applied in Snow Leopard but it doesn't add any features unless you're using Lion.

I see to remember skipping the origina ipdate because there were issues when it first came out. Now I n=understand that those issues have been cleared up. I have some important software that has had issues with 10.7.

What kind of features would I be missing by sticking to 10.6 and the associated iWork 09 version?

The early bugs were related to Snow Leopard updates, they just affected Pages. It was font issues & was "cured" by using the combo updaters. So, even if you're using Snow Leopard 10.6.8, it would be worth running the combo updater you can download from this page, especially if you're having issues.

What software has issues with Lion? I might know of some tips that could help. Personally, I moved from Lion to Mountain Lion as soon as I could. Lion has too many issues itself. But I do keep a couple of older Macs to run stuff that can't be run without Rosetta or other "legacy" systems. 😀

I use Bryce 7 pro in about a third of my artwork. It does not run with 10.7 or 10.8.

I have Mountain Lion on a separate drive but found I am sticking with Snow Leopard for a host of reasons.

Whilst Mountain Lion was an improvement on the best forgotten Lion, there are just so many PITA choices that Apple has made, that has put me right off.

The shame is that there are now so many apps that require Lion/ML for sometimes it appears quite trivial reasons.

Also we have now hit the ceiling with 3 of our Macs, Apple won't let us upgrade them to ML, so that hits a stone wall right there.

Not unstable, it is quite stable, but it screws around a lot of things.

I have no problems with Pages or Numbers in Mountain Lion. Nor did I with Lion, I just don't like Lion because so many things that "just worked" in Snow Leopard were broken or removed with no way to fix or enable them.

It's very difficult trying to figure out why Pages or Numbers doesn't work correctly for so many users when most of us don't have problems but we keep trying. I don't do anything special to prepare my systems for upgrades & I rarely remember to disconnect any of my many external drives & it all "just works." And I am one who tends to be on the cutting edge of the cutting edge.

How can I buy Pages 4.3 from iWork 9.1? Can 4.3 export to ePub? That’s what I need it for.
