downloads aren't working
Does anyone know what to do when nothing will download. They all go into downloads and then freeze.
iMac (27-inch Mid 2011), OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2)
Open Console in Utilities & see if there are any clues or repeating messages when this happens.
Most likely...
Bootup holding CMD+r, or the Option/alt key to boot from the Restore partition & use Disk Utility from there to Repair the Disk, then Repair Permissions.
