How best to save FCE project files when uninstalling/reinstalling?

I need to reinstall FCE 3.5 from the original discs. Have been advised in this Forum to manually uninstall the program first according to the guidelines in Article TA38198. The procedure includes deleting the folder Final Cut Express Documents, which contains my Project Files.

I have burned my Project Files to a CD and they are also available on a bootable clone on an external hard drive. Is this adequate backup? Will it be easy/possible to import the Project Files into the reinstalled FCE 3.5 from the CD?

Anything else I should have thought about but maybe didn't?

Thanks for any help/hints.

In addition to the FCE project files you also need to keep all your source media files (video clips, audio files, stills, etc. that you used in your projects).

The default location of your captured clips is the Capture Scratch folder that is inside the Final Cut Express Documents folder. Be sure to back up everything you need before deleting
