May I use Time Machine with a USB hard drive connected to a TP-Link 1043ND?

I want to backup using Time Machine in a USB hard drive connected to a TP-Link 1043ND router.

Is this possible?

How do I have to format the drive (will only be used for Mac Backup)

How do I set up Time MAchine to "see" the drive without manual mounting every time?

Thanks!

Mac OS X (10.7.4)

Sorry, no. Only with an Airport Extreme Base Station. Drive must partitioned GUID and formatted Mac OS Extended, Journaled. But it will work connected directly to the computer.
