So iTunes is up to date at 10.7 correct? Do you have all the latest Windows patches and updates applied to your PC as well? Are there any other devices connected to your PC via USB?
It wouldn't hurt to try and remove and re-install iTunes and all other Apple related software and there may be some driver conflicts.
