On portables, the AppleCare extension is very recommendable if you use the Mac for important stuff and depend on it.

No. I've never bought it in 24 years of using Macs, and I've never needed it.

I don't think so. I've converted them all back to plain text formatting to try and avoid all the reformatting that was required.

No, guess not. Didn't fix numbered lists either. It did screw up the help and solved emails. The image links are gone.

*Sigh* It's really irksome to have them add yet more annoyance to the people doing their job. But yes, at least on this end the list looks ok. Here's a return test:

Just be sure the AppleCare comes in a sealed box and that Apple's systems recognize your registration immediately, cause there are con artists out there selling fake AC kits. Check the status here: https://expresslane.apple.com/ProductSelector.action Be sure to select the country where the Mac was purchased.

In my case haven't been as luck as the Prof. In all of this century's Macs I've owned, the price of AC was more than offset by the needed repairs it covered.

Your money, your call. It's like car insurance: hope not to use it but darn convenient if needed.
