I purchased the new One Direction iTunes LP but I cannot download it on my iOS devices. Why? I also tried syncing it the old way to an iOS device and it won't - it says it's ineligible. What am I missing? Are iTunes LPs different? Thanks.

An iTunes LP can only be displayed in the iTunes application on a computer. Unlike most other purchases iTunes LPs can only be download once. The album tracks should still download however.

It should work. I just deleted my Jimi Hendrix - Valleys Of Neptune (iTunes LP) album off my iPad, then went to Store > Purchased > Not on this iPad, hit the download button and the tracks are now downloading...

is this still the case? that iTunes LP cannot play on an iPad? b/c I always found the experience on my macbook to be lacking, was excited to treat my new iPad as a digital LP - apparently I was overly optimistic
Yes. iTunes LPs and Extras packages can only be viewed using the iTunes application on your computer, or a 1st Gen. Apple TV with the right software. Shame really since all we're really talking about is a tiny webpage with a few media files attached and the ability to start tracks playing in your library. I'm sure the hardware of the current Apple TV and the iPad would be up to it. Would be nice if Digital Booklets (optionally) transferred into the iPad's Music app too.

I guess it is a niche feature, not worth further investment, but I certainly pick iTunes over Amazon when there is extra content to be had. Would be nice to be able to get more use out of it.
