my safari window doesn't maximise
I still get the dock at the bottom of my screen, this is a recent development so I guess I have changed settings...how do I change back

Apple menu > Dock > Turn Hiding On

thanks but this still doesnt maximise when i click the arrows on the top right hand side.
You're talking about full-screen mode, not maximizing the window. What happens when you select View > Enter Full Screen from the menu bar?
