trying to verify my new icloud account. recently i updated my apple id with a new email address. now, when i am trying to activate and use my new icloud account with my apple id, it sends out the verification email to my old email address which i can no longer access.

so i am at a loss as to how to get past this. i get an "account not verified" message, followed by instructions to check my original email account for instructions on how to verify this account.... kind of frustrating. apple support site has nothing about this...??
