Talking about original battery, do all original Powerbook G4 12" batteries have apple logo on them? and words like ".....designed by Apple in California" ?. Some people sell Powerbook G4 12" batteries on the internet and claim that their stuff are original (they don't have Apple logo on them), do you think it's reasonable for an original (brand new in box) rechargeable battery for powerbook G412" costs around $20-30 ?.

I'd very appreciate if someone can help. Thank you so much.

Hello,

Like any laptop computer, it's more than fine with having the power adapter plugged in while a battery is attached.

In the case of your PowerBoook, it wont charge a fully charged battery while you have your power adapter plugged in. This goes for faulty old batteries too.

As for a replacement batteries. Apple don't make PowerBook batteries anymore. There are vendors out there selling old stock of new original Apple batteries. Not sure what the quality will be like on old stock. It's very debatable in regards to the Apple logo on a battery. I've known cheap China makes with authentic Apple logos on them. You're best to buy either a good quality third party battery from a reputable dealer or find an Apple authorized repair center who may carry good stock of quality batteries.

There maybe repair center willing to order and supply you a replacement battery.

Stay clear of really cheap counter part batteries, they don't last too long

Best of luck.

Thank you for the recommendation. As for now, I'm still investigating good battery for my powerbook. If I find your recommendation is the best one then I will surely choose it. By the way, does the battery really fit the battery place on Powerbook G4 12"? I mean, there's some case that some replacement batteries, which are produced by nonoriginal manufacture, don't really fit the battery place on notebooks. (even though they still works)
