My iPhone has been paired to my i7 - all running on updated software. But the unavailable message comes up:
And on my iPhone (which naturally is on and within range) says under Bluetooth - Devices that it's still searching.
Any clues?

For what purpose are you trying to connect them?

Thanks for the link. I was actually trying to get images/photos from it as I left the USB connector at work. As the new iPhone 5 USB connector is different, I don't now have a spare!
I see from the link that you can't access the phone HD via Bluetooth.

But is it still strange that it can't be 'seen' from my i7?
iOS devices have never supported file transfers via Bluetooth, except to other iOS devices using a third-party app from the AppStore.
Send the images via email, or use something like Dropbox.
