I'm thinking about buying the Cinema Display 27"...
But it made me think, because they just made the new imac which is very cool and i thought in my head that there might be a new cinema display anytime soon then?
What do you think?
We're really not allowed, by the Terms of Use, to even speculate on unannounced products. However, we do know that new Mac Pros are coming in 2013 and, personally, I wouldn't expect to see any new Apple displays until then or even later.
If you need the Cinema Display (you've posted in the Thunderbolt Display forum), go for it. I'm sure that it will work just fine with any new Apple products that may be coming out in the next couple of years (and, if you've a Thunderbolt port on your Mac, go ahead and get the Thunderbolt Display - it has some docking advantages over the Cinema Display).

I am considering the TB Display. If it had USB 3 ports I would buy now, but I wil wait. Aabyy, if you don't care about USB 3 ports, and have TB supported Mac, I second Clinton, go for it.

If I actually used my USB 2.0 ports for anything other than a USB Apple keyboard and a USB US Robotics modem, I might wait until the next 'upgrade'. However, all of my external HDs (except for the two USB 2.0 clones that I keep) are FireWire and I'm now in the process of getting rid of them and buying Thunderbolt drives - so I had no need to 'wait' until any future product came out. I love this ATD and can't understand how I did without it for so long!

**** straight, yup rumors are probably correct as they always are so were likely to see a new Mac Pro after the 1st of March and a corresponding display update soon after it will likely have 4 USB 3.0, thunderbolt, magsafe 2, ethernet... a thinner aluminium body and a less glary screen (70% less probs) like the new imacs. Cant wait for this! but youd be silly to buy one now imo 🙂
