Hi,

would like to make a presentation with an ipad retina on my fullHD-TV over appleTV. I know that ipad2 maximum resolution is 1024*768 and it can not send a higher resoltution to appleTV. But ipad retina can show 2.048x1.536 wich is more than fullHD 1920x1080. AppleTV also supports 1080p-resolution. So here is the qustion:

Can i create a keynote-presentation with 1920x1080 on an ipad retina  and send it to an appleTV ?

I have exactly the same question. Answers, anyone? Can someone confirm that an iPad (3rd- or 4th-generation) doesn't automatically down-rez a 1920x1080 Keynote presentation to 1024x768 when used as the signal-source for a 1080p projector (the way the iPad 2 did)?

    Thanks.

I can confirm that iPad 4 does not solve this problem, at least not using the Lightning AV adapter with HDMI.

I'm using both the iPad 2 and the iPad 4 as a test, outputting a 1920x1080 Keynote presentation to two different plasma monitors.  Both seem to be displaying at 1024x768 or at least not full-screen.

Both, however, will play back video shot in the iPads at 1920x1080 full screen.

This is, I believe, a Keynote app issue.
