Make sure that the shared calendar is designated to be privately shared.
Read iCloud: Share a calendar with others for further details.

Nov 14, 2012 2:33 PM in response to Ferd IIby Alfeo Dixon,Hi Fred. That was one of the first things I checked. Its also odd that not all of the shared calendars that I am added to show up anymore. Notice that I'm missing 4 calendars. All of which are privately shared with me having edit & view permisions
btw... I check to see if the edit box was scrollable... just incase

1. Delete the subscribed calendars, then quit Calendar.
2. Go to your Macintosh HD/Users/yourusername/Library/Calendars Folder and move any any files with "Cache" listed in the name field to your Desktop. To find the correct Library folder, go to the Finder menu and select "Go," while holding the "Go" menu depress the "option" key to reveal the correct Library folder.
3. Next go to your Macintosh HD/Users/yourusername/Library/Preferences Folder and move the com.apple.iCal.plist file to the Desktop. To find the correct Library folder, go to the Finder menu and select "Go," while holding the "Go" menu depress the "option" key to reveal the correct Library folder.
4. Log out/in or restart, and open Calendar.
5. Resubscribe to your sons calendars and let us know what happens.
