automation editing jumps to beginning

I am using Logic 9.1.7 on two different SL systems (10.6.8).

On both of them there is an annoying issue when editing automation on grouped tracks.

clicking the automation line to create or move a node jumps the display back to the start of the session.

The playhead stays where it is.

This makes changing automation very tedious!

Turning off the grouping on the tracks seems to solve the problem. But that makes things like working on instruments tracked with two mics a pain.

I want the automation to be the same for both tracks and doing it manually is not very precise.
