I am a novice at this, but in the last month or so, I've noticed that when I add, edit or delete a contact on my Mac, iPhone or iPad, it does not necessarily update my other devices. I also have duplicates that the Duplicate Function does not combine on my Mac. Can somebody help me?

Ensure that you add contacts to the iCloud account and the 'On My Mac' account (in Address Book)
Do you mean that I have to enter/edit contacts manually in each? If so, I've never had to do that before.
No, I mean you have to decide whether you want your contacts to only be available on your Mac (in which case use 'On My Mac') or for them to be hosted in iCloud and thus available to additional devices, (in which case use iCloud)
