"connection failed" Time Machine (1st gen)

I have reset and reprogrammed the unit and it says everything is OK, however the unit will not switch ON. It says there is a problem connecting to the Internet. The WIFi works fine but the Time Machine will not switch on.

What OS are you runnng?

Try a reset of TM.

You might just need to reboot the TC or the whole Network.. Lion and ML are famous for forgetting their own names and the names of network resources.
