HELP!! MBP Core Duo Does Not Recognize Keyboard on Startup

Was this a retailed purchased universal dvd? A gray updated? Borrowed?

Full Retail and owned.

I am aware. My initial point was to ask if I pulled the intel drive, would I be able to fix the drive with DU on a PPC mac OS X 10.5.8?

BTW, I have also tried CMD-V, but ZERO output, and CMD-S, and both result in system starting up with:

1. Power light turns on, with a black monitor
2. screen turns solid grey and the bootup chime
3. apple logo on solid grey
4. rotating gog under apple logo
5. kernel panic

This process takes between 20 and 27 seconds and always with the same messages. I have attached snaps of the panic screen if they are of any help.

I am sure it is the OSX install, as I ran TTP and the ASD disc on the MBP prior, and no hardware issues were found. I also used Drive Genius to verify the sector map. But, it has me totally stymied as to why EFI is completly unaccessable.

I will pull the drive first and see if DU on the PPC can repair it. I will post the results.

Besides,taking the MBP in would probably cost more that the Mac is worth. or to replace it outright. And, I have not had the best track record with Apple techs. I usually have to tell them what is wrong before they figure it out. A couple exceptions, but not many... sigh...

My experience over the last decade of dealing with kenel panics; all have been software issues, with the exception of one on a Quad Core PPC, where one of the CPUs was dieing. ALL the others were easily remedied by Disk Warrior repairing the file system issue.

But there is the rub. I have always been able to access the boot loader, or C key, so that I could boot with Disk Warrior. Not so, this time.

Obviously, this is just my personal experience. Your milage may very.

Anyway, back to my Sherlock hat.

One last closing comment.

I finally figured out the problem..... Sad to say, it was the Logic Board. All the kernal panics were the result of LB going through its last weezes, which eventually led to complete fail.

I took the MBP into the Service tech and he verified the LB was toast. I asked if he could see any physical reason for it to go (i.e. maybe I damaged it somehow), and was told that, physically, the board appeared pristene, so the failure was not something I did. The board just died.

Looking back, the previous owner did replace a lot of parts on warrenty (iSight, FW400/800 and USB ports, display light and trackpad), and I replaced the left fan within the first month of having it, so maybe, this was destined to eventually happen with this unit.

Anyway, I got a replacement LB from ifixit.com, installed it, and the MBP is working perfectly. So, diagnostic confirmed.

Now, to deal with some keyboard issues..... the Tilda, and escape keys are dead.......
