Airport Express connects but then drops out

Airport express connects to Airport Extreme with green light and then drops out after less than five minutes. Every time.

Amber light then flashes, but does not reconnect and idles on amber light. Switched off all other digital appliances, but makes no difference.

Exchanged original for a new one, but the same happened again. Airport Extreme works fine. Set to Channel 1.
