New iPad Retina Display seem to flicker when scrolling through Aps when I am downloading an Ap. This does not occur with either my iPad 1 or iPad 2.

I am with you Gandalf. I just picked up the iPad 4th Generation with Cellular yesterday at the Apple Store. I have owned every iPad generation to date and this is the first time I have noticed the flickering / jerkiness of the screen while scrolling through the App Store. I know the Home / On button reset process and tried that first. I did a search on Google and someone has also posted to YouTube the same issue with the iPad Mini. The OS is the same as it was on my iPad 3rd Generation which implies that Apple has a hardware problem.

jbthree: I can pretty much confirm this is a OS issue as I exchanged my Retina Display for the iPad Mini, some thing occurs so it is a glitch in Apples OS that needs to be fixed. Ironically the iPad mini seemed to work better especially the WiFi, Apple should have put a Retina display on this device and kept the same price and they would have sold more IMHO. I think it is the OS with the new units hardware not working together, so it's very hard to say if it, is one or the other just yet. I have 14 days to return this one, and if Apple doesn't release some thing that fixes it, I will return it and wait. On the Mini it only happens when I am in the App store and nowhere else, where on the iPad Retina display it happened App Store and other areas. Maybe the first batches are affected it will be interesting if anyone else sees it as an issue or not.

ZenFury: I have the Original which has been rock solid but that is on a different OS, the iPad 2 is fine as well. I just picked up the iPad Retina display and returned it as it was pretty bad. I am now trying the mini, it's not as bad. Apple is getting pretty lame lately with there OS affecting thier hardware, and this is just another example. Out of dozens of items this is the second time only for me, so Apples track record has been good, but not lately! The very first iPod Mini just died on me a few days ago, so there old stuff seems to still hold up well.

Well, historically, anytime a company replaces the 'old guard' that started the company with a new, money focused management team, as they more closely watch the bottom line, innovation and quality assurance seem to be the first to go... It's sad, but its inevitable when the only real focus is profit... This may well be the end of the apple we knew, and what we can expect of future products. I love my iPads, have since day one. This one is heavy in the hands, especially compared to ipad 2, which I have been trying to overlook because of the retinal which is quite beautiful, but this flashing and flickering really ruins the experience....

I have the same issue in brand new iPad with retina display. Happens only when installing an app and scrolling in App Store. Doesn't see an issues anywhere else. Took it to store and they couldn't tell whether is hardware or software issue even after many resets. They said they will replace it with a new one. Opened a new one out of box and I tried doing same thing with that and saw the same issue in it. No point exchanging and returned with my original iPad. I believe it's a software glitch however any announcement from Apple would be great.

I am having the same issue on an iPad 2. Prior to iOS 6.01 had never noticed this; upgraded a couple of weeks ago, now I have the screen flicker when scrolling in the AppStore, scrolling video thumbnails on the Netflix App, and also when vertically scrolling on some websites. Have tried all solutions including closing all apps, resetting, even restoring the iPad from scratch and reinstalling the apps (Rather than from a backup). Nothing seems to work. I would revert to iOS 6.0 if I could to see if this resolves the issue, but I'm not sure that is possible. I am NOT impressed - hopefully Apple will release an update to address this issue!
