Where is the Photo folder in 7th Gen iPod?

When I connect my 7th Gen iPod to iTunes (10.7 (21) ) there is no "Photo" folder under my iPod in the Devices list. Under my iPod I have "Music," "Movies," and "TV Shoes" as options for loading onto my iPod, but no "Photos."

I'm running OS 10.6.8. -- so, is that the reason there is no Photos folder in iTunes? i.e., is there a newer version of iTunes for Lion/Mountain Lion that allows me to sync photos to my 7th gen iPod?
