I would like to know which laptops run snow leopard and ppc apps, specifically cs2. Thanks.

I'm looking to upgrade from dead ppc to an intel based machine and want to be able to utilize some of the features in cs2 photoshop. I imagined it would be something like when os x came along and it had a classic function for slowly using older software. By now you will have noticed I'm not a tech guy. I was just looking to narrow the field before shopping. Thanks.

Lion was released in July 2011 so most any Mac manufactured before that date runs Snow Leopard. However, the last retail version of Snow Leopard - 10.6.3 - was released in March 2010. After that date there is no public release of Snow Leopard. All subsequent updates were only included with new Macs in the box.

This website has useful information about older Macs, so you would want to look for the "newest" MacBook or MacBook Pro that will continue to boot from Snow Leopard, so that you could either use SL exclusively, or do a "dual-boot" method of partitioning the hard drive so that you can have Snow Leopard (with Rosetta optionally installed) and Lion/Mt.Lion available to you (probably the "early 2011" and maybe the "late 2011"):
