IPAD 2 and i have failed to update to 6.0 or the latest version.when i try to update it says it has the latest version of software?I have tried DFU and factory reset but no luck.I am sticl on 5.0.Its legit.Can someone help please.i use Windows 7.

Look in the iPAd under Settings->General->Software Update.

If it says its uptodate there, then you'll need to connect the iPad to iTunes on your PC and Update from there.

Are you trying to update?

If you had problems updating, you better plug it to iTunes, enter DFU mode and restore, not update. You will lose everything...but surely will update it.

If there is no Option to Update from within the iPad it needs to be done though itunes.

If the Option is there, but the update fails, tell us what error it fails with?

And if you are trying to update through a 3G connection or Wifi?

Try and force iPad into Recovery Mode:

1. Turn off iPad

2. Connect USB cable to computer; leave the other end alone

3. Press and hold the Home button down and connect the docking end of cable to iPad

4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect To iTune" screen

5. Release the Home button

6. Open iTune

7. You should see "iTunes has detected an iPad in recovery mode"

8. Use iTune to restore iPad

Note: You need to be patient and repeat the above many times to recover your iPad

Last question, are you sure its an iPad 2?

If its thick and has no camera its an iPad 1.

Nope, the thicker version is iPad 1 only and cannot be updated beyond iOS 5.1.1

iPad 2, along with iPad 3 and 4 are the thinner ones. They share the same base chasis.
