update for itunes 10.7 not working?

itunes is telling me that an update is available (10.7) but when I click download nothing happens, the thing is that my phone will not connect to my itunes library as it has been updated

Try updating your iTunes using an iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe) installer file downloaded from the Apple website:

http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
