Musical score player app
Is there an app that let's me enter musical notation and will play it back to me so I can hear how it should be played? I know Garage Band can edit the score but is it good for creating a complete score from scratch?

I edit my musical scores with Finale - that is very versatile, but not a free application and rather expensive.

I searched for "Finale" and found Finale SongBook which is free, and NOTION which is £6.95, but no Finale. I'm trying Finale SongBook now... But it looks like it can only play files, and has no facility to create scores. I wish I could try out Notion but it's a lot of money if the app is no good.

Muse Score looks good, by I have not tried any of those personally.
My above links are all for Mac applications - if you are looking for IOS apps see this link:

Those all seem to be for apps to display a score for a musician to play. I want to be able to enter a few bars and have the app play them back so I can hear what the pacing and rhythm should be like.

That is what Finale does, but as I said, it is really expensive.
If you can find any free app, that lets you export the score as midi, you can listen to it in GarageBand on your mac. Just import the midi file to a software instrument track and play it.
The main apps for ios devices are "Symphony Pro", "Notion", and "Symphonix Evolution". Also, "Progression" but that is geared mainly for writing tab.
None of these programs are perfect. Do your research.
