Can't Delete First Page

Have a 400-page document in Pages and need to delete the blank page at the beginning, but it won't let me! I have "show invisibles" displayed but nothing is on that page. I have tried deleting it by viewing the thumbnails but that is wanting to delete the whole 1st "section" (23 pages) and that's not what I want!!

How can I delete page 1?

Thanks!

Yep 😟

It almost acts like it doesn't think that first page even exists!! I had originally imported this document from Word after getting very aggravated with Word, and this is my first experience with Pages (which up till now has been SO much nicer!). When I turn on View Layout - even that does not appear on that weird first page... It's like a "ghost page" or something - but I do need it gone!

Thanks so much for your offer to help, but this is a copyrighted book that I'm formatting for a published author, and I'm not at liberty to send it 😟

Is there anything you can direct me to try to do? I'm a techie myself, so I'm pretty good at finagling - just need some suggestions and direction!

How about trying one of these ideas (on a COPY of the document, just in case):

Select everything in the section except for the first page.

Copy

Create a new blank section

Paste the copied stuff into the new section

After reviewing to see that everything looks as it should in the new section, delete the old section

or,

Go to the top of the second page

Insert section break

Hopefully the blank page is in a section by itself now.

Delete the blank section
