hi!!

I just got install the 10.6.8 at the mac store and also erase all the file because it was a bit slowly. But now i see that there is like 154GB in the hidden space. I don´t understand why. The mac should be empty. So, how can I erase this hidden space?

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.8)

I run the OmniDisk Sweeper. The results are: total hard disk usage 20.3 GB ( private 9.6GB, Library 4.6GB,-this might be because i syncronized the ipad- system 2,7, aplications 2.0GB User 1.1GB usr 580.3 MB and the other are in MB). I still do not know where the 154 GB are....

PS. THANK YOU very much for trying to help me 🙂!!!

it was 10.5.8. I wanted the latest software, but the guy at the apple store said that my computer will get slowly. This are the specification of my computer 2.53 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo. 4 GB 1067 Mhz DDR3. Do you think that it will get slowly if I updated to the latest software?

More details about the problem. I remembered that when I first bought the mac it requested me to fill up a form with my name my adress and all personal data so everytime I type the first letter of my email it automatically "knew" my name. This time I did not have to fill up anything. And the user name is apple with the password apple again. I never choosed a password. And I don´t know If I can reformat it beacuse I do not see that option.

This time the guy plug an external hard disk and from that he updated my mac to 10.6.8. He asked me twice whether I wanted to erase all my data or no. User uploaded file
