IiTunes Match worked well and all music is showing on the cloud on my iPhone 4g. But iPad4 has only purchased music showing on cloud, no match music.

On your iPad, try turning iTunes match off, wait a few seconds, then turn it back on again.

No joy. When I go to music app cloud shows and it appears that download is being attempted, but after 10 seconds or so cloud disappears and only purchased music is listed.

Not sure what's going on there.  You might try turning it off again, then force-closing the Music app (by, from the home screen, double-tapping the home button, locating Music in the list at the bottom, tap and holding it until it wiggles, tapping to close it, then tapping the home button again), followed by resetting your iPad (hold the power and home buttons at the same time until you see the Apple logo, then release).  When it restarts, try turning on iTunes match again and see if it will load your library this time.

If that fails, you could try turning it off, then turn off wifi and turn it back on again to see if the library will populate over cullular rather than wifi.  Be sure Settings>iTunes & App Stores> Use Cellular Data is turned on at the bottom.

Thanks randers4. Just got the iPad and had not updated to iOS 6.0.1. Did so and problem solved.

    Glad you got it going.
