Itunes sync with Apple devices.
You would have to read the directions for your phone to learn how to put music on it

so far so good, but how can I make itunes purchases available on my windowsphone? my latest purchase (*.m4b file) can not be copied to my winphone - but I want to use it on this device...

Music stored in iTunes isn't hidden and can surely be transferred to your windows 8 phone using whatever support tools are supplied with it. The normal location for iTunes music is <User's Music>\iTunes\iTunes Media\Music\<Artist>\<Album>. It might make more sense to use Android support forums for questions about using your windows 8 phone.

You replied to a post that's several months old, just FYI. And the link you posted is for transferring to Android devices and does not, unless I'm going blind, refer to transferring to a WIndows 8 phone.
