My ipod will not turn on

The computer does not regonize the device. It worked one day and the next it was like this. what should i do?

Charge it up and try a hard reset. Hold the buttons until you see the Apple logo light up. If it will not light or you don't see the low battery symbol on the screen, you most likely have a hardware issue--like a bad battery or logic board.
