Flash drive with ipad mini

Is there a way to use a flash drive with an ipad mini. I'm planning on buying my son and daughter each an Ipad mini this Xmas. The school uses Flash Drives. Is there some sort of adapter, maybe after market, that they can do there classwork on to turn in projects??

Thanks,

Chris

Nope. iPads are not really ompatible with USB flash drives.

Before you spend the money on iPads for Christmas, you should check to make sure they will work for the intended purpose. Keep in mind, iPads do not use Adobe Flash. Flash is used in many school lessons and homework assignments, so doing them on an iPad will not work. You might be better off getting them laptops instead.

Thanks Guys, Any ideas about a tablet that would work the best, Kindle, Nook???

Neither for school work, IMHO. Get them laptops instead. They will be much better off writing papers and doing serious study work (assuming their school actually makes them work these days). Yeah, they cost more, but kids are expensive.... just like wives! 😁

Just I case anyone is still wondering you can read and move files thumb drives on android tablets. Why iPad mini doesn't support this is beyond me but it is what it is. Usually a Samsung note is a safe bet if you don't want to go with a full size notebook but still want some level of support for things your use to doing on a computer ie viewing and saving files to a thumb drive
