Bluetooth

Have an Iphone 5 and when I get in my Hyundai santa fe, and the bluetooth hooks up I lose the notification sounds for texts, key strokes, etc. When I get out of my car the sounds resume. Why is this?

iPhone 5, iOS 6.0.1
