Often, when I make a group of apps on the screen, the name of the group is the same as another group. After much research it looks like I would have to jailbreak the phone to rename a group. Why does Apple have no simple way to do this? There must be a reason.
Are you talking about a folder on your iPhone?
You can rename it as follows (from the iPhone Manual):
Rename a folder: Tap to open the folder, then tap the name and enter a new one.
When you finish, press the Home button .
Apple does let you do it.
At the time you create the folder you can rename it.
"Create a folder: Touch and hold an app until the Home screen icons begin to jiggle, then drag an app onto another.
iPad creates a new folder that includes the two apps, and names the folder based on the type of apps. To enter a different name, tap the name field."
Should try reading the manual.

Apparently not. All I could find was apps from Cydia. I think my problem may have been not knowing the term I was looking for was "folder," and the apps I was finding allowed you to rename an app. Thanks again.
