Facetime Connection issues

Is there anything that can be done to improve the quality of connection on Facetime? I keep getting poor connection message on both sides. Presently I am using facetime between Iphone 4s and ipad 2. Both of the devices have IOS 6 updates. Any advice would be a great help.
