Podcasts play for a few minutes and then go back to beginning

Podcasts will play for a few minutes and then play stops and restarts at the beginning. I am able to fast forward to a place beyond where it has played previously but then the problem repeats. This happens on iTouch, iPhone, and iPad, but not in iTunes on my computer. Extremely frustrating.
