Problem transferring iTunes TV show to my iPod Touch and iPad

I am trying to transfer over a TV show I just purchased from iTunes to both my daughter's iPod Touch (2nd Generation) and my wife's iPad (1st Generation), and in both cases, iTunes won't let me. I'm getting a message saying that the show "won't play on this iPod". I have updated both devices to the most recent software.

Any ideas what is happening? This is the second time this has happened since I purchased a couple of tv shows on iTunes...
