I have an oler iBook G4. My IPhoto, iMovie and iDVD, quit working.  When i open iPhoto it just stalled out and said my library was empty. I backed up all my movies and photos. I ran a verify disk function and nothing is wrong with my disk. I deleted these programs and tried to reinstall them but it will not install, it stops and said it can't be installed and doesn't say why. I know my computer is full of movies and such maybe I need to delete them all since they are backed up to get more space. Please help!

    What version of iPhoto?

How much disk space do you have free?

    iLife 06

    Disk space says:

    Capacity 37.14 GB

    Avail: 7.97 GB

    Used: 29.16

I can delete some movies maybe that would help.

OS X needs about 10 gigs of hard drive space for normal OS operations - things like virtual memory, temporary files and so on. Without this space your Mac will slow down as the OS hunts for space on the disk, files will be fragmented, also slowing things down, apps will crash and the risk of data corruption - that is damage to your files, photos, music - increases exponentially. Your first priority is to make more space on that HD. Nothing else can be done until you do. Purchase an external HD and move your Photos and Music to it. Both iPhoto and iTunes can run perfectly well with the Library on an external disk.

Okay I have 11 G available now and I tried to reinstall iLife and i chose to only install iphoto, imovie and idvd because I didn't delete the iTunes off my computer because it works okay. Now it says:

! The application installer quit unexpectedly

Mac OS X and other applications are not affected.

Click Reopen to open the application again. Click Report to see more details or send a report to Apple.

The Installer crashed. Try again. In the meantime I would be backing up all my data.
