How do you letterspace in motion 5?

the old keyboard shortcut seems to have been removed... used to you put your cursor between the offending letters and hit control + an arrow key. Doesnt seem to work now. What am i missing? (yes there is a "tracking" slider but it does the whole line, which is a mostly worthless "feature")

help?
