Can i restore to a back up from my old Iphone? My new iphone5 didnt sync like i had stated.

i've just bought an iphone5 and upon set up i selected set up from back up from itunes.... however an error occured and it set up as a new iphone and im really sad i dont have my favourite photos or essential contacts on my phone.. is there any way i can resore it back to my old iphone back up??
