When clicking on a clip of FCPX 10.0.6 the Clayhead doesn't go to where you click anymore. You have to click outside the clip or above it to see it in the viewer then click on the clip to edit.

You click on a clip in the timeline and the playhead goes to that point to so you can see in the viewer what you just clicked on.
Hopefully this is something stupid im overlooking and not a new perminate change. Cause its a timewaster for my workflow.
The behavior has changed. Hold Option to get the behavior you want.

Do you know of anyway to not have to hold down the option key?
This is the exact reverse of the previous behavior. You have found the ways to do this. Use feedback to ask that this behavior be a preference and have the previous behavior as the default.
Hey Kevin, you don't have to "select' the clip to see it in the viewer and to change it's properties in the inspector. As long as no other clip is selected, and as long as your target clip is in the utmost track of the project, simply click above it to park the playhead, and make your changes in the inspector.
