Itunes crashes on DEP error Windows XP

Hello

Windows XP SP3 clean install - fully patched up the lattest released a few days ago.

Itunes v. 10.7.0.21 just donwloaded from Apple web site.

DEP turned off except for windows services.

NO ohter third party software. Plain vanilla HP system.

If I try to import anything (music, podcast, app) in the currently empty library I get a DEP error and Itunes closes... In other words I can't do anything with iTunes.

(yep it's a french machine...)

Ran various hardware tests on the machine (including hard disk) and no error is reported...

What gives ? I'm really surprised and dismayed by this super basic setup not working 😟

Try updating your QuickTime to the most recent version. Does that clear up the DEP errors in iTunes?
