Nov 15, 2012 4:10 PM in response to TomMostby David Harbsmeier,A few details would help:
What format are you trying to capture?
What camera (or other device) are you capturing from?
What capture settings are you using in FCE?

Nov 15, 2012 10:35 PM in response to TomMostby Alchroma,Capture Project is not for capturing clips from a camera before a Project is started.
It's for recapturing the footage from a camera that has aready been captured and it will only work with DV cameras not HDV.
HDV cameras may or may not output HDV because of the camera menu settings.
Without some specifics about how the camera menu settings are set, we can only generalize about what FCE Easy Setup to use to get you going.
Dig into the menu and relay what all the settings are.

Nov 17, 2012 3:43 PM in response to Alchromaby TomMost,I think i can see whats going on here. When i plug in my iLink cable to my mac, it shows up on the camera LCD SCREEN. As soon as I plug it in, it shows iLink Out but quickly reverts to iLink in. Im trying to figure out how to change it to out on my camera.

Nov 19, 2012 8:47 PM in response to TomMostby Alchroma,Go to camera menu settings:
In/Out Rec
HDV/DV Sel - Auto
DV Rec Mode - SP (not applicable)
Component - 1080i/576i
i.Link Conv - Off
TV Type - 16:9
A/V DV Out - Off
With the above settings you should be able to send HDV out of the camera over firewire.
